in the studios…

laurel mountain studios is the labor of love of artist, pianist, and teacher, lauren stanfield.

lauren started taking music lessons at a young age but truly developed her love of music while playing her grandmother's upright and singing with her mother on sundays. she pursued the bassoon during middle and high school, playing in various youth ensembles across the area. however, in college she fell in love with the variety and flexibility of the piano and decided to dedicate her studies to the instrument. she studied under paul nitsch, DMA, at queens university of charlotte, double majoring in music and french. she additionally holds a masters degree in teaching from lenoir-rhyne university. lauren continues her own piano practice by accompanying first presbyterian church of hendersonville and serenading her adorable family. she brings joy, laughter, and enthusiasm to every thing she does and every student she supports.

lauren studied various art forms throughout high school and college but always found herself coming back to letters. maybe it’s because she started reading at a crazy-young age, but from three years old, she has been completely engrossed by the shapes of words. she began studying calligraphy (officially) in 2015 and has since relished using two of her passions - words and design - to enhance the special events of her clients.

when lauren is not in the studios, she is reading books, running in the woods, and chasing her children and husband down every trail they can find.
